ActionButtonFix

Give the Action Button a single click and a double click of its own — without losing the long press.

What it does

On stock iOS the Action Button only responds to a long press. ActionButtonFix adds two more gestures on top of it:

• Single click — runs an action you choose
• Double click — runs a different action you choose
• Long press — keeps whatever Apple already had assigned

Pick them separately for single and double click in Settings › ActionButtonFix.

Behaviour worth knowing

Camera

Opens the native lock screen camera while the device is locked. The display wakes on its own, even from a black screen. On the Home Screen, Camera comes straight to the front instead.

Uses the stock flow: flash, small preview in the bottom corner, tap it to edit. Left alone it disappears on its own.

While the screen is off it does nothing, on purpose — waking the display only to capture the lock screen isn't worth it.

Flashlight

Goes through the same controller Control Center uses, so the two stay in sync. Turn it on with the button, turn it off from Control Center, or the other way round.

• iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max — the Action Button only exists on these
• iOS 17.0 or later
• RootHide or a rootless jailbreak

Tested on iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17.0.3, RootHide. Other devices and iOS versions have not been verified on hardware.

• Screenshot now uses the stock flow — flash, preview in the corner, tap to edit. It used to save straight to Photos with no interface at all.
• Camera opens properly from the Home Screen. It no longer leaves a hidden session running in the background.

These versions were never published; they are listed for context.

• 2.1 — Camera works with the screen off. The display wakes on its own right before the camera is presented.
• 2.0 — Package identity settled, migration metadata cleaned up.
• 1.2.0 — Settings interface finished: About section, icon, version.
• 1.1.3 — Double click fixed. The setting was written correctly but read back as something else, so every double click fell through to screenshot.
